The new breed of luxury consumers (Generation Yers and Xers) have grown up with the Internet and mobile technology as common day-to-day tools. As part of the “always-on” generations with access to big data from the Internet, they are accustomed to using digital tools and social networks to educate themselves about and connect with the brands that peak their interest. Also, because they can afford the latest gadgets, the average luxury buyer is technologically more connected than the mass-market consumer.
